At our October 26th book club, we discussed Wild Dark Shore by Charlotte McConaghy. Some of our readers felt it started slowly but liked the suspense of the story. Others felt that there were too many issues that pulled them out of the story, and they did not like the book at all. It was a fun discussion!
Our next meeting is Monday, November 30th at 3pm at the LME Library. We will be reading By the Fire We Carry by Rebecca Nagle. Copies of the book can be picked up at the front desk, and discussion sheets are also available. New members are welcome!Summary: "A powerful work of reportage and American history in the vein of Caste and How the Word Is Passed that braids the story of the forced removal of Native Americans onto treaty lands in the nation's earliest days, and a small-town murder in the '90s that led to a Supreme Court ruling reaffirming Native rights to that land over a century later"
