Slade House by David Mitchell

As part of Central Illinois Reads (ciReads), we received 11 copies of David Mitchell's new book, Slade House and had a book discussion on 10/14/15.  It's not an author I would normally choose so that's always fun.  Definitely different but not exactly "scary"--more on the "chilling" end of the spectrum.  Mitchell writes really well, and I read the book very quickly.  I would recommend it to readers who like to read different genres and who are adventurous.  The book discussion guide is available here.  If readers liked The Magicians by Grossman, The Rook by O’Malley, or Golem and the Jinni by Wecker, they may like Slade House.  I still have one copy left, if anyone wants it.  The book doesn't even go on sale until 10/27/15, so you can read it before it's even available in stores!
