One Summer, America 1927

At our August 31st book group meeting, we had a nice turnout of 9 members! The book we discussed was Hurricane Sisters by Dorothea Benton Frank.  Overall it was a great summer read and the members enjoyed reading and discussing the book.  Our refreshments included caramel apple cheesecake bars, coffee and tea.

Our next book group will be on Monday, September 28th at 3pm in the LME Library's Turner Room.  We will be discussing One Summer, America 1927 by Bill Bryson.  This is one of our non-fiction picks this year.  Books and discussion sheets are available for pick-up at the circulation desk.  Discussion sheets are also available online.  Please join us!

Summary:
Bryson examines closely the events and personalities of the summer of 1927 when America's story was one of brawling adventure, reckless optimism and delirious energy.
